Support

We read every message. Expect a reply within two business days.

To get help fastest, tell us your device and OS version, the app version from Settings, and what you expected to happen. If it involves a specific campsite, include its name and coordinates.

Report a wrong or unsafe campsite

This is the most useful thing you can send us. Site data comes from Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management records, and those records go out of date. If a site is closed, on private land, or simply not there, email us with the site name and coordinates and what you found instead. Include a photo of any posted sign if you have one.

Never rely on the app against a posted sign. Signage and current agency rules always win. See the Safety Notice.

Common questions

The map does not show my location

Check that location permission is granted: iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → OpenCamp Atlas, or Android Settings → Apps → OpenCamp Atlas → Permissions. The app only ever asks for location while you are using it, never in the background. A first fix outdoors can take up to a minute.

Routing says my vehicle was not used

That message is accurate: it means no vehicle dimensions are saved, so the route was planned as an ordinary car and bridge clearances and weight limits were not checked. Add your rig in Settings → Vehicles. The app will never assume a height for you, because a wrong height is more dangerous than no height.

No weather forecast appears

Forecasts come from the U.S. National Weather Service, which only covers the United States and its territories. Outside that coverage the app shows no forecast rather than a guess. A missing forecast can also mean no connection.

Weather radar shows nothing

Usually because there is no precipitation in view — blank is a real answer. Radar is never stored offline, so it also needs a connection. Coverage is the United States only.

Can I use the app with no signal?

Yes for browsing and searching: the whole campsite catalogue ships inside the app. Routing, forecasts, and radar need a connection. Download topographic map regions in advance from a site's detail screen.

How do I delete my data?

Everything the app stores is on your device. Delete individual items in the app, clear the map cache in Settings → Offline data, or uninstall the app to remove all of it. There is no account and no server-side copy for us to delete on your behalf. See the Privacy Policy.

Accessibility

The app supports Dynamic Type and system text sizing, VoiceOver and TalkBack labels on controls, and dark mode. If something is unusable with assistive technology, tell us and we will treat it as a bug, not a request.
