This disclaimer is shown in full at first launch (as part of onboarding, short form) and is always available from Settings → Legal.

1. This app gives information. It does not guarantee safety.

OpenCamp Atlas shows camping site data, land data, road data, signal data, and resource data. Some of this data comes from public agencies. Some of it comes from other travelers. None of it is a guarantee of current, accurate, or complete conditions.

2. Conditions change

Roads wash out. Fire bans start with no warning. Land access rules change by season. Cell signal varies by carrier, weather, and terrain. A report in this app may be days, weeks, or months old. Always check the current rule with the managing land agency before you travel, and verify conditions on arrival before you commit to a site or a road.

3. You are responsible for your own decisions

You are responsible for deciding whether a site, a road, or a route is safe for your vehicle, your skill level, and current weather. You are responsible for carrying adequate water, fuel, and emergency supplies for the terrain you enter. OpenCamp Atlas cannot assess your vehicle, your driving experience, or real-time conditions on your behalf.

4. Not for emergency use

OpenCamp Atlas is not a rescue service and does not monitor your location for emergencies. In an emergency, contact local emergency services directly. Do not rely on cell signal reports in this app as a guarantee that a call will connect at a specific site.

5. Traveler reports are not verified facts

Road condition, signal, and hazard reports are submitted by other travelers. OpenCamp Atlas moderates reports for obvious abuse (see Moderation Policy) but does not verify each report on the ground. Treat every report as one traveler's account, dated, not as a certified fact.

6. Respect land rules and closures

A site appearing in this app is not permission to enter. Posted signs, gates, seasonal closures, and agency rules always take priority over app data. If a rule in the app conflicts with a posted sign, the posted sign controls.

7. Limitation of liability

See Terms of Use §10. OpenCamp Atlas and its operators are not liable for injury, death, property damage, vehicle damage, or loss arising from reliance on app data or from travel decisions you make.

8. Acknowledgment

By using this app, you confirm that you understand outdoor travel and dispersed camping carry real risk, and that you accept responsibility for your own safety decisions.
